Lunchtime Think Tanks

The CitSci ThinkTanks are networking meetings open to all interested people to join. They are held on Zoom – no pre-registration necessary – just click the zoom link on the day.

They are a great way to:

  • discuss updates on the latest developments both here and abroad
  • ask questions and look for advice about anything related to CitSci
(e.g., funding, resources, know-how from people doing similar things … )
  • meet new people and connections
  • hear about new projects, and
  • collaborate with others in the design of new initiatives and ideas!

Each ThinkTank will be faciliated by one of the members. Prior to each ThinkTank participants are invited to forward any particular discussion topics they would like to discuss in the session. This helps the facilitator to cover the main interests of those present in the time available – so please do!

The CitSci NZ AGM is held in August each year.

The 2023 date is:

  • August 17, 2023 – CitSci NZ AGM

This meeting is open to all members and is typically preceeded by a guest speaker event. It is of course a great time to nominate yourself or others to join the Committee, or you might just be interesting in hosting a workshop, webinar, or networking side-event (e.g. at a conference) or joining a Working Group. There are lots of ways to get involved.

CitSci NZ Management Committee and Working Groups

We have the ability to co-opt Committee members at any time of the year and have a number of Working Groups.

If you have time and enthusiasm for any of the following please drop us a line at any time:

  • running a training workshop
  • hosting on online webinar or talk
  • coordinating a CitSci gathering as a side-event at a conference. Examples from the past range from a simple lunchtime get together to a facilitated workshop run as part of the conference programme.
  • coordinating an online networking event e.g. panel discussion with colleagues on a topic or theme
  • offering a internship position within your workplace
  • helping to compile material for our quarterly newsletter
  • or perhaps something more momentus like initiating a new project to support the CitSci sector in Aotearoa NZ!
Promoting your existing events

You can also use the CitSciNZ website, newletter and social media to promote any related you are involved with. The best formats are a short blog post and/or social media post or tweet. To make use of our networking channels just email your material to the contact below:
